How to Build Smarter

Tune into our video series to learn how manufacturers of all sizes can leverage digitization to be more effective with the tools and people that they already have.

How to Build Smarter

About the series

RooBee One 3D Printer

This series explores how manufacturers of all sizes in additive manufacturing, box builds, and industrial equipment assembly can digitize their factories to be more efficient with the tools and people that they already have. Building complex hardware involves intricate workflows, multiple tools, and precise assembly steps, where even small errors—such as incorrect torquing, using the wrong part, or wiring mistakes—will lead to costly rework or product failure.

Join Steve Wishau, Head of Product at PICO, as he demonstrates how to tackle these challenges through the assembly of a RooBee One, an open-source SLA DLP Aluminum Frame 3D Printer. This desktop printer has over 100 screws of various sizes, all requiring different torque values, complex electric wiring, and specific sequences, and the original work instructions are provided to you as a bill of materials in PDF format. Follow along to see in real time how implementing digital work instructions and connecting tools helps error-proof this complex assembly. Let's build smarter, together!
